Frequently Asked Questions
How do I start a new game?
From the home screen, tap "New Game". Choose your game mode (Classic or Party), create teams, select word packs, and set your preferred round time and win condition. Then just tap "Start Game"!
Can I play offline?
Yes! Alias works completely offline once you've downloaded word packs. Perfect for road trips, camping, or anywhere without internet.
How many teams can play?
You can create as many teams as you want - there's no upper limit. The game works great with 2 teams, but we've seen epic matches with 5+ teams!
What are Challenge Cards in Party Mode?
Challenge Cards add fun twists to how you describe words. You might have to explain with your eyes closed, use only 3 words, speak in questions, or even stand on one leg. A new challenge appears each round!
How does the Contest feature work?
After each round, you can tap any skipped word to contest it. Teams vote on whether the skip was fair. If the majority agrees the word was valid, the point is awarded. It's democracy in action!
What languages are available?
Alias comes with 16 languages bundled: English, Russian, Finnish, Polish, Czech, Slovak, Swedish, German, Danish, Norwegian, Ukrainian, Estonian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Georgian, and Armenian. All languages work offline — no internet required.
Can I mix languages in one game?
Yes! You can select multiple language packs for a single game. A round-robin algorithm ensures balanced word distribution across all selected languages. Perfect for multilingual groups.
How do word packs work?
Alias includes 6 categories of word packs: General, Movies & TV, Football, Geography, History, and Kids. Each has different difficulty levels (Easy, Medium, Hard). New packs are added regularly and download automatically — no app update needed.
Can I request a new word pack?
Absolutely! Visit our Request a Word Pack page to suggest new languages or categories. We review all suggestions and prioritize based on demand.
